IUSPA Elections Announced

Howdy all!

Election season for IUSPA Executive Board positions is upon us, which gives all of you first-year students a chance to seek opportunities for involvement in IUSPA! Please take a look at our timeline below to learn about the election/application process. IUSPA Elections 2009: Timeline

Thursday, September 17th: IUSPA General Assembly; election schedule/positions announced.
Tuesday, October 6th: Position preferences due to Kim Kushner (kimkushn@indiana.edu).
  • Send Kim an email with the TOP THREE positions that you prefer.
  • Please only apply for the positions that you are interested in. We want to make sure that we have a full slate of candidates!
Friday, October 9th: Candidate platforms due to Kim by 9:00pm.
  • Send Kim a platform email with 250 words or less about why you are interested in your position.
  • Outreach Candidates: send Kim a platform email with 400 words or less between your pair.
Monday, October 12th: Candidate platforms posted online.
Monday, October 19th, 12:00pm–Wednesday, October 21st, 5:00pm: Voting occurs online.
Thursday, October 22nd: IUSPA 2009-2010 Executive Board announced.

IU School of Education New Graduate Student Orientation

All new students in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) master's program are officially students in the IU School of Education. This orientation may be beneficial to any of the enrolled HESA students. You may find a pamphlet that explains the various sessions of the orientation by clicking here.

Attend the HESA Potluck!

We hope you will be able to join us for good food and fun! All HESA students, faculty, assistantship providers, and practicum providers are invited. Significant others and children are also welcome. This will be a great opportunity to meet a variety of people who help make the HESA program what it is! This is a relaxed event so please come comfortable and ready to have a great time. ☺

The HESA program will provide vegetarian lasagna, Bar-B-Q Beef sandwiches, and bottled water. Please bring your favorite side dish, dessert, and/or beverage of choice to round out our offerings. If you need ideas, please refer to the categories below which are based on your last name.
  • A-I     Salads: Potato salad, macaroni salad, broccoli salad, etc.
  • J-R     Snacks: Popcorn, Chips and Salsa/Dip, Party Mix
  • S-Z     Desserts: Cookies, Pie, Cake, etc.
Directions to Danielle and Martha's (from the School of Education):
  • Turn left onto E. 3rd Street.
  • Turn right onto College Mall Rd.
  • Follow College Mall Rd. for approximately 3 miles (the road changes to Sare Rd.).
  • Sare Rd will end at the intersection with Rhorer Rd.
  • Turn left onto Rhorer Rd. and go approximately one mile.
  • Turn right onto Gran Haven Dr. (The entrance to the development has two stone markers labeled "Gran Haven Estates").
  • Danielle & Martha's home is the second house on the left.
Parking: Please park along one side of the road to ensure that traffic can still go through the development.

NOTE: We plan to be outside for the majority of the party. However, Martha and Danielle have cats and dogs so if you are allergic you may want to take some allergy medicine prior to the potluck.
